Distribution Lists

The distribution lists feature in eXtend has been updated so you can now bulk subscribe an existing list of email addresses rather than adding one address at a time. You can also now send emails to your distribution list using HTML or plain text, finally we have increased the number of users you can have on each list to 2500.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind customers that we have a zero tolerance policy on users sending unsolicited email, in the event that the Umbrella system is deliberately used for this purpose the users account will be suspended.

Zend Optimizer for PHP5

Zend Optimizer, the popular PHP application that helps enhance the running speed of PHP scripts has been enabled on PHP5 on all servers. This feature is also enabled on PHP4.

Bulk Domain Management

Our popular bulk domain management feature allows you to perform common functions to all your domains or a selection of domain names in one go including:-

• Web Forwarding (multiple types)
• Unlimited Email Forwarding
• Catch-All Email Forwarding
• Full DNS Management
• Change Name Servers
• Opt Out of Nominet WHOIS

One of the most useful functions of this system is that you can create different domain groups to manage. This feature has been enhanced further so that you can now edit and delete groups.

Domain Privacy

As a domain name owner you are required to provide contact information so that other Internet users can contact you if needed. This information is often referred to as the WHOIS information.

Unfortunately this information is regularly used to send unsolicited emails (spam) or could be used by competitors or other third parties to find out your address and contact information.

The good news is that we are able to protect this information for you using our domain name privacy product. For just 99p per month we will protect your real identity in the domain WHOIS databases by providing generic contact information using our domain name identity-secured.com. So, rather than your address, your phone number and your name being displayed all users will see is identity-secured.com.

Using our domain privacy product does not impact the ownership of your domain name.

People may still contact you by using a contact form on www.identity-secured.com. At no time will they see your contact information and you do not have any obligation to respond to them.

For .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domain names you may use the free Opt-out-of-WHOIS feature. Using this feature your address details will be removed from the UK domain name WHOIS database. This feature is free on all UK domains managed with Umbrella.
